Job summary
Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Dulles, VA is seeking a Thermal Mechanical Engineer – Level 2 to join our team onsite. You will perform thermal analysis, design, and testing of spacecraft components, solving moderately complex problems and developing innovative solutions.
The role offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, relocation assistance may be available, and a competitive total rewards package.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience or Master's with 0 years.
- Experience with thermal engineering tasks including analysis, design, or testing of structures.
- Familiarity with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop or SINDA or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Perform thermal analysis, design, or test of spacecraft components or subsystems.
- Analyze requirements for materials and functional systems.
- Select data from previous products and apply engineering principles.
- Mathematically define problems and compute engineering characteristics.
- Release results as technical documents after senior review.
- Develop innovative solutions and elaborate on design concepts.
- Evaluate designs with supervisors and modify as needed for optimal results.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct test programs to evaluate designs.
