Job summary

Sun Technologies, Inc. in Oxnard, CA seeks a Test Technician (Level 2) to support the Mission Enabling Products unit. The role involves running functional checks on space-related components, documenting results, and reporting non-conformances. It is a contract position with multiple shifts.

Ideal candidates have strong reading of blueprints/schematics, several years as a technician, and experience in cleanroom and environmental testing areas. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years’ additional education and/or related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, plus experience with multimeters, calipers, or torque wrenches.
• 3+ years overall experience as a technician in the manufacturing/engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office and process documentation.
• Experience working in Cleanroom Environment and Environmental Test Area.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to work on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Run functional, electrical, or mechanical tests on components following written instructions
• Document results, log errors, and report non-conformances to engineers, quality and manufacturing
• Identify and analyze equipment failures or defects during testing
• Execute comprehensive component and system level test plans, procedures and test events
• Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews
• Analyze measurement requirements and equipment measurement tolerances
• Define and maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipment
• Contribute to maintaining and improving test equipment and infrastructure
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data (test results and engineering design changes)
• Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation
