Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Chatsworth, California, is seeking a Test Engineer to oversee test activities from proposal through final testing. The role includes leading a team of Test Engineers/Conductors and Technicians to ensure on-time, within-budget test execution for high-precision spacecraft components.

The candidate will define test parameters, generate test plans and procedures, ensure tooling availability, and collaborate with the Program Manager, Project Engineer, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience in related field (Test Engineering experience is preferred).
• Knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Technical writing and communication skills.
• Computer programming (LabVIEW) experience preferred.
• Human relation skills (good communication, attitude, teamwork, flexible) to deal with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge and/or experience with thermal vacuum systems, vibration testing, CAD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of test from early proposal stage to final testing.
• Lead (under direction) a team of Test Engineer/Conductors and Technicians to meet cost, schedule and technical requirements.
• Define test parameters and methods from customer requirements; generate test plan and procedures.
• Ensure necessary test tooling and equipment are available or fabricated.
• Monitor progress of testing and analyze results; troubleshoot discrepancies as needed.
• Schedule work and direct Test Engineer/Conductors and Technicians to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
