Job summary

Moog Space and Defense in Chatsworth, CA seeks a Project Quality Engineer to support quality processes that ensure our spacecraft hardware meets customer and contractual requirements. You will report to the Quality Manager and work onsite at the Chatsworth facility.

You will lead RCCA investigations, support MRB activities, and interface with customers, suppliers, and government representatives to ensure product integrity, compliance, and mission assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM discipline and 3 years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, spacecraft, or high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience serving as a quality interface with customers, suppliers, and government representatives.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate quality risks, technical concerns, and compliance issues effectively to manufacturing, engineering, program management, customers, and executive leadership.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, manufacturing plans, and acceptance test documentation.
• Proficiency in AS9100D, AS9102, AS9145, ISO9001 or similar.
• Experience with RCCA methodologies including 8D, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, and 5-Why.
• Experience supporting reliability analyses, failure investigations, environmental testing, qualification testing, or life‑test programs for aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support program-wide quality engineering activities across lifecycle processes.
• Provide Quality Engineering support during manufacturing, assembly, test, and delivery.
• Participate in MRB activities, nonconformance disposition, and product traceability.
