Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer (Engineering Specialist/Sr. Engineering Specialist) to perform structural dynamic analyses of launch vehicles and spacecraft, develop simulation tools, and coordinate mode survey testing across programs.

Candidates should have a mechanical/aerospace background with 6+ years of experience, FE modeling skills (Nastran/DMAP), and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance; travel and telework options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering.
• 6+ years of professional or educational experience in structural dynamics.
• Experience with FE model development and software.
• Knowledge of vibration, transient response, and linear algebra.
• Willingness to travel (~5%) and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamic analyses of launch vehicles and spacecraft loads across flight phases.
• Develop simulation tools and processes for structural dynamics problems.
• Assemble coupled system models for various launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Evaluate predictions against flight data to improve loads analysis methods.
• Plan and oversee mode survey testing and model correlation with test data.
• Mentor peers and provide technical support to program offices and customers.
