Job summary

Redwire Space Missions LLC is seeking a Contractor – Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team. The role focuses on design, development, integration, and testing of software for spacecraft avionics and mission systems, with ownership across the lifecycle.

You’ll work with systems, electrical, and test teams to deliver reliable flight and ground software for mission success. Ideal candidates are comfortable working remotely with occasional on-site activities at Redwire locations in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS or related field; 5+ years in high-reliability embedded software.
• Experience with NASA Core Flight System Framework and OpenC3/Cosmos.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics interfaces and protocols (MIL-STD-1553, CAN, SpaceWire, RS-422, Ethernet).
• Git, SVN; JIRA, Confluence; OS fundamentals; software architecture, memory mapping, DMA and interrupts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify software solutions to meet system specifications including performance requirements.
• Draft and release software documentation such as requirements specifications and design documents.
• Develop embedded system solutions with hardware teams; own modules through their lifecycle.
• Define system-level hardware and software interfaces; write interface specifications for external sub-systems.
