Job summary

Redwire Space Missions LLC in Littleton, CO is seeking a Sr. Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software for spacecraft avionics and mission systems.

This role owns software modules through their lifecycle, collaborates with systems, electrical, and test teams, and delivers reliable flight and ground software while complying with aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience in aerospace/defense preferred.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems; Python/ MATLAB for analysis is a plus.
• Experience with RTOS and spacecraft interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, CAN, SpaceWire, Ethernet).

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and test embedded software for spacecraft avionics and mission systems.
• Translate requirements into software architectures, designs, and implementations.
• Own software modules throughout their lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test teams to ensure correct integration.
