Job summary

Blue Canyon Technologies in Lafayette, CO invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer Intern as part of our Summer in Space Internship. This 11-week, full-time program begins May 25, 2027, offering hands-on experience in structures, mechanisms, and electro-mechanical assemblies for small spacecraft.

Candidates must be pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with at least two years of coursework (Materials Science, Static Mechanics, CAD).

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Completed at least 2 years of degree coursework (Materials Science, Static Mechanics).
• Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Support ME staff in developing structures, mechanisms, and electro‑mechanical assemblies for small spacecraft.
• Create drawings, design assembly fixtures, and BOMs with engineers.
• Assist with advanced design/analysis tasks for interns pursuing higher degrees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
