Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer Intern (Summer 2027) to join our hardware team in Northern California. Interns will design, build, and test satellite hardware and software, contribute to structure/bracket design, and gain exposure to real spacecraft assembly.

We seek students pursuing a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering who are passionate about hardware development, eager to work in a fast-paced space environment, and capable of hands-on design

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with the engineering team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and/or software.
  • Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test structure, bracketry, and mechanisms for Astranis spacecraft.
  • Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems
  • Integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft by working with the rest of the team and document procedures to improve the build process.
