Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer in Dulles, VA for a 100% onsite role. You will contribute to spacecraft structures, mechanisms, and subsystems with Creo CAD, GD&T, and MBDes across multiple teams.

You will work on detailed designs, drawings, and manufacturing documentation while interfacing with engineers. A Top-Secret clearance is required for Level 2 and a Secret clearance for Level 3.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s with 0 years (or 4+ years in lieu).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Creo Parametric CAD including skeletons, large assemblies, piping & harness modules and GD&T drawing creation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design Spacecraft Structures, Mechanisms, Antenna and Payload placement from concept through integration and test.
• Perform detailed Creo CAD designs and document for manufacturing and assembly.
• Produce Mechanical drawings and Model Based Designs using GD&T.
• Interface with mechanical design and engineering teams for manufacturable parts.
• Predominant daily tasks involve detailed Creo CAD work for spacecraft manufacturing.
