Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to contribute to the design, analysis, manufacture, and testing of aircraft Support Equipment. You will gather data, develop requirements, interface with suppliers, and support cost and schedule objectives.

You will use CAD tools (NX, Pro/Engineer, Catia), perform basic stress analysis, and act as manufacturing liaison. Travel to site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 2+ years, or Master’s in STEM with 0+ years (Level 2).
• Experience using CAD to generate detailed manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment for military aircraft.
• Data gathering, requirement development, supplier interfacing, basic stress analysis.
• Manufacturing liaison to ensure quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Develop test plans and environmental testing; test and integrate equipment on aircraft.
