Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, seeks a senior flight software engineer to develop reliable embedded software for spacecraft, including bare metal, RTOS, and Linux-based stacks. You will own end-to-end software development, from requirements through test and operations support.

Requirements include a STEM degree and 3+ years in safety-critical space software, with strong C++ skills. On-site role offering equity and growth in a fast-moving space startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.
• 3+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience with development in C++, along with a strong understanding of the language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Determine how spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software.
• Cover all phases of development from requirements to test and flight operational support.
• Write quality bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
• Teamwork, communicate and problem solve in a collaborative environment.
