Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team. You will determine how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software to enable missions.

You will own all aspects of software development from design through testing and flight ops, writing C++ for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux.

Ideal candidates have a CS/engineering degree and 3+ years in safety-critical aerospace software, with real-time embedded experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics, or engineering, or equivalent safety-critical software experience.
• 3+ years of experience in developing spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience with C++ and strong language fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft and reentry capsule.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V) techniques.
