Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Flight Software Engineer to help determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and write reliable embedded software in C++ for flight hardware.

The role encompasses requirements capture, design trades, and end-to-end testing in a hands-on, on-site setting in El Segundo. You will own software development across design, implementation, and verification, work with RTOS/Linux environments, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design to integration and testing.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades given open‑ended problems.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
• Teamwork, communicate and problem solve in a collaborative environment.
