Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. in Pasadena, CA seeks a Spacecraft Environmental Requirements Engineer to support NASA/JPL MASS contract projects, ensuring flight hardware is compatible with mission environments.

The role oversees a team of engineers across dynamics, thermal, EMC/EMI, and natural space environments. Responsibilities include thermal/structural analyses, design reviews, environmental verification, and coordination with test engineers.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• Requires 15+ years of experience in structural, thermal or dynamic environmental requirements, analysis and testing.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI environments including magnetics, spacecraft charging is required.
• Experience with environmental verification programs and related testing standards highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal and structural analyses of electronic hardware designs.
• Support program/project design reviews.
• Determine component temperatures for various environments and assess random vibration fatigue life.
• Review technical analyses submitted to JPL programs/projects.
• Support environmental test programs including EMC/EMI, vibrations, shock analysis and other tests on hardware.
• Interact with project personnel and test engineers.
• Define and document the environmental verification program per the Mission Assurance Plan.
• Prepare and manage risks in the environmental verification program.
• Maintain and track status using an online Mission Assurance database.
• Interact with project personnel.
