Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to join the Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior and build reliable software for orbit operations, spanning requirements capture through flight support.

The role emphasizes developing firmware for embedded processors in C++ across bare metal, RTOS, or Linux environments, with a focus on safety-critical aerospace software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience developing spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience with C++ and modern language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule throughout the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure system quality through software test, verification and validation.
