Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II to develop reliable firmware for spacecraft systems, spanning from requirements capture to flight operations support. You will own software design, testing, integration, and verification in a safety-critical space environment.

Responsibilities include writing bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++, ensuring high reliability and performance with thorough V&V.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.
• 3+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware / software systems.
• Experience with C++ and strong understanding of language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule throughout the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development, including design, testing, integration, and requirements capture.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades given open-ended problems.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
