Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to define and implement reliable software for our orbital vehicles. You will develop embedded C++ code across bare metal, RTOS, and Linux-based environments, spanning requirements through flight operations.

The role requires a strong background in safety-critical software, 3+ years in spacecraft software, and hands-on experience with CCSDS telemetry/telecommand and space-grade frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety-critical software.
3+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
Experience with C++ language concepts.

Responsibilities

Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
Write quality bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based C++ software for embedded processors.
Own all aspects of software development—from design to test and integration.
Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades.
Ensure system quality and performance through V&V techniques.
