Job summary
Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team to determine spacecraft behavior and build reliable software for orbit. The role covers all development phases from requirements capture through test and flight operations, owning software design, testing, and integration for the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in safety critical software for spacecraft.
- Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
- Proficiency in C++ language.
Responsibilities
- Determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software.
- Support all development phases from requirements capture through test and flight operations.
- Develop firmware to control spacecraft hardware across missions.
- Own software design, testing, and integration.
- Scope projects with requirements capture and initial design trades.
- Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software in C++.
