Astro Digital designs, builds, and operates a diverse range of satellite systems for earth observation, communications, and in-orbit demos. The Satellite Electrical Manufacturing Engineer will lead electrical manufacturing, wiring, and harness integration on the production floor, collaborating with engineering and programs teams to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3–8 years in electrical manufacturing, harness fabrication, or electronics assembly in aerospace/high‑reliability.
• Deep expertise in harness manufacturing, connector terminations, crimping, and wire routing.
• Hands‑on creation of manufacturing work instructions and production travelers from drawings.
• Strong PCB subassembly, SMT, fine‑pitch soldering, and microelectronics rework knowledge.
• Experience in cleanroom, ESD, and FOD controlled environments.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication between design teams and shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain detailed manufacturing work instructions and wiring procedures.
• Manage Manufacturing Orders, routings, travelers, and BOMs for harnesses and subassemblies in ERP/MES.
• Provide hands‑on production support for harness fabrication and PCB subassembly.
• Write NCRs for PCB modifications and wire repairs.
• Develop processes for harness routing, solar cell laydown, potting, and dispensing.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Test, and Systems teams to improve DFM/DFT.
• Define electrical test procedures and harness continuity checks.
• Ensure IPC/ESD/cleanroom compliance and FOD prevention.
• Support non‑conformance investigations and RCA to improve yield.
