Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to craft production-ready CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for spacecraft systems. You will work within a multidisciplinary team in Redmond, translating engineering intent into production data and managing large CAD databases.

The role highlights NX and Teamcenter expertise, rigorous design review, and collaboration with suppliers to ensure producibility in a fast-paced satellite program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• 3+ years of CAD experience in complex mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies or systems.
• Experience interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines and understanding inputs.

Responsibilities

• CAD Design Creation & Management: Create and manage CAD designs for large spacecraft system databases with hundreds of components.
• Drawing Production & Release: Produce and release engineering drawings compliant with drawing standards and GD&T.
• BOM Lifecycle Management: Manage CAD BOM through Teamcenter from design to manufacturing release.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with mechanical, thermal, electrical, structural, manufacturing, metrology, tooling, assembly, and test teams.
• Supplier & Vendor Interface: Engage suppliers for CAD definition of sourced components and systems.
