Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO is seeking a technician to assemble, align, and fit spacecraft components, following engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.

You will work in cleanrooms, use hand and power tools, perform inspections, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues; the role requires flexibility and readiness for overtime. This position offers growth in a mission-focused aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Learn and pass technician certification requirements.
  • Read and apply information from engineering drawings.
  • Understand and safely use hand tools.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focusing on quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Be able to work flexible shifts, after-hours support, and overtime as required.
  • Use calibrated hand tools and equipment.
  • Work in a clean environment with smocks and gloves, including flow benches.
  • Pass written and hands-on certification for technician role.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, align, and fit complex mechanical, electromechanical, and other spacecraft components such as hinges, actuators, deployment systems, linkage assemblies, etc.
  • Follow detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Perform in‑process inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with stringent cleanliness, configuration‑control, and aerospace quality standards.
  • Utilize specialized hand and power tools (drill presses, pin presses, torque wrenches, durometers, multimeters, etc.) and maintain tool calibration records.
  • Troubleshoot hardware anomalies
  • Work within cleanroom environments, adhering to strict contamination‑control procedures and wearing appropriate cleanroom garments.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, material resource planners, and quality assurance personnel to resolve issues.
