Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, headquartered in Austin, TX, seeks a Director of Marketing & Communications to lead campaigns supporting missions and media relations. Reporting to the CMO, you will craft press releases, executive messaging, and marketing materials while building a high-performing team.

You will manage external agencies, oversee budgets, and coordinate with investor relations, while traveling up to 30% to support launches and milestones.

Qualifications

• 12 to 15+ years of progressive experience in marketing, corporate communications, or public relations.
• Experience at a publicly traded company with investor relations support.
• 8+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing departmental budgets, external agencies, and vendors.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, lead, mentor, and develop marketing, graphics, and communication team members.
• Serve as the CMO's primary operational leader, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, managing execution and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Establish and maintain processes, workflows, and accountability measures to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
• Lead Firefly's external communications, including corporate announcements, media relations, interviews, and messaging development.
• Collaborate with finance and investor relations to support earnings messaging.
• Develop marketing campaigns for new products, milestones, and mission launches.
• Oversee all marketing assets: press releases, website, brochures, infographics, decks, and social media; ensure branding consistency.
• Coordinate with customers' and partners' communications teams for announcements and milestones.
• Oversee external speaking engagements and prepare spokespeople with key talking points.
• Oversee strategy for award nominations to build industry recognition.
• Lead reporting on media and marketing metrics for leadership.
