Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Public Relations Manager to lead media relations and tell Firefly’s story across aerospace, defense, and technology audiences. This role reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and requires translating highly technical information into clear messages for diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate has strong writing skills, established media relationships, and experience with earnings communications and investor relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, either in-house or at an agency.
• Publicly traded company experience required, with a preference in aerospace or defense.
• Experience with quarterly earnings and investor relations.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including AP style.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development of press releases for program milestones, contracts, partnerships, and company updates.
• Handle media inquiries, coordinate responses with experts, and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
• Build relationships with key aerospace, defense, technology, and financial media.
• Identify proactive media opportunities to amplify Firefly’s vision and roadmap.
• Support corporate messaging for clear external communication across channels.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to highlight launch, lunar, and in-space programs.
• Provide talking points, briefing materials, and presentation content for spokespeople.
• Manage the awards tracker and assist in nominations.
