Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is assembling a pioneering, space-based cellular broadband network to operate with standard devices. The Technical Project Manager will oversee hardware development for satellite subsystems and lead cross-functional teams of 10–20 people through design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery.

You will manage earned value, IMS schedules, and design reviews while coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and PMO deadlines to ensure timely, within-budget outcomes for space vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Electrical systems or aerospace engineering coursework preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Technical Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams in design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of hardware (batteries, solar arrays, harnessing, PCDU, FC, test equipment).
• Monitor earned value metrics, resource allocations, and IMS to align with PMO deadlines.
• Ensure the successful completion of critical design reviews and milestones.
• Guide program support activities, including subcontracting, supply chain management, material planning, and capital expenditures.
• Review contracts with suppliers and design partners, drive major milestones, and schedule payments.
• Manage the design, configuration, and operation of engineering and reliability lab infrastructure to reduce cycle time and cost.
• Drive development and manufacturing of test procedures (life cycling, qualification, acceptance testing) for space vehicles.
• Capture and define requirements from stakeholders to determine test parameters, design constraints, and project deliverables.
