Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an internship in Structural Engineering located in the Space Systems Sector. You will perform static and dynamic structure analysis, review material and subsystem requirements, and help determine design paths to meet space application needs. Candidates must be enrolled full-time in a STEM degree and be available for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2027.

U.S. citizenship is required to obtain necessary clearances.

Qualifications

• Student enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate STEM degree.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship prerequisite).

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
• Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Select technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determine design path forward and compute engineering characteristics for space applications.
• Release results as technical documents after senior review.
• Develop innovative solutions and elaborated design concepts.
• Develop and coordinate test programs required to evaluate design work.
