Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Mission Enabling Products group is hiring a Structural Engineer at either Goleta, CA or Oxnard, CA. The role focuses on static and dynamic structural analyses of spacecraft systems, with ownership from concept through design and testing.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in STEM and 5+ years of FEA experience (NASTRAN preferred), plus knowledge of spacecraft materials. US citizenship is required and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years engineering experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
• Demonstrated experience with FEA analysis, i.e., NASTRAN, for structural analysis.
• Experience with spacecraft materials such as metals, adhesives, and thermoplastics.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical system design.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structural analyses of spacecraft systems and subsystems.
• Document test plans and procedure requirements.
• Participate and present in internal and external design reviews.
• Ensure high structural performance that is cost effective and reliable.
• Manage multiple priorities while aligning with program goals.
