Job summary
Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Software Engineering Functional Manager Level 1 in Boulder, CO to lead a team of Algorithms/Analysis Engineers and/or Software Engineers. This dual-role combines functional management with technical performance in the Advanced Space Processing portfolio. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, proven leadership, and excellent communication.
Expect travel up to 10% and a comprehensive benefits package. U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience, or 3 years with a Master’s; PhD if applicable.
- Experience across engineering development lifecycle and leadership in teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to mentor/coaching diverse teams.
- Familiarity with OPIR/EOIR sensors and simulations is a plus.
- Willingness to travel ~10% for business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of algorithms/analysis engineers and software engineers within the Advanced Space Processing portfolio.
- Serve as a functional manager and drive technical performance and delivery.
- Foster ethical, inclusive leadership and effective stakeholder collaboration.
