Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an engineer on an Agile Scrum team to design, develop, test, and deploy software for a complex space system, delivering mission capability securely and continuously.

You will work with open-source tooling (GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher) and support requirements, verification, and integration across teams, contributing to space domain awareness and resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• Recent Systems Engineering experience including requirements development, verification, and integration.
• Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles, concepts, and methods.
• Experience with system integration, verification, and validation.
• Experience on large-scale, agile software projects with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• No clearance needed to start but ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Develop and implement system test plans, procedures, and protocols.
• Support the integration, verification, and validation of systems and subsystems.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, design, and performance requirements in an Agile environment.
• Perform system analysis, modeling, simulation, and trade studies.
• Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Openstack, GCP) or traditional IT systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; detail-oriented.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines; deliver high-quality results.
• Familiarity with the Space Domain.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Generate and simulate operational level plans to defend the space domain and high-ground assets.
• Dynamically optimize terrestrial and space-based sensors for space domain awareness.
• Strategically optimize placement and maneuvering of satellite constellations to meet evolving priorities.
• Leverage open-source tools (GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher) to build and deploy software.
• Work on an Agile Scrum team to deliver mission-capable solutions securely and continuously.
