Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support the design and build of the Haven space stations. You will perform system-level reliability analyses, predictions, and data maintenance for safety-critical spaceflight components.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, read technical drawings, and identify critical parts while traveling up to 20% and sometimes working evenings or weekends to meet mission milestones.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level reliability analyses, such as fault tree analysis, building reliability block diagrams, and perform failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
• Perform reliability predictions using a variety of methodologies, including electronics reliability predictions.
• Assist engineering teams in performing trade studies.
• Develop and maintain spaceflight component reliability data.
• Identify critical components with significant impact to safety and mission success.
• Assist in root cause analysis, failure investigations, and risk characterization.
