Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Undergraduate-level Reliability and Statistics Intern for the Systems Engineering Division, located onsite in El Segundo, CA. You will apply statistics to space-system data, analyze availability, and help build reliability models for satellites and launch vehicles.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in STEM, can work for 10 weeks, and are proficient in at least one programming language. US citizenship and a security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's program in mechanical engineering, statistics, reliability engineering, or related discipline.
• Available to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside the university term.
• Fluent in at least one programming/scripting language (C++, Java, R, Python, Matlab, etc.).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical techniques to derive insights from data related to space systems.
• Analyze system availability and replenishment planning for satellite systems.
• Develop and update reliability models for satellite and launch vehicle systems.
• Provide technical advice to management, customers, and contractors.
• Document technical efforts and brief internal and external customers.
