Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Lead (Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer) to advance national security architectures by evaluating and integrating commercial space capabilities. You’ll work onsite in Chantilly, VA, leading a team to analyze, model, and simulate space systems in collaboration with the NRO and intelligence community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or science.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience.
• Technical understanding of space-based architectures.
• Experience with modeling tools supporting architecture analysis.
• Ability to address complex challenges via analytical modeling and simulation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Willing to travel domestically occasionally.
• Current TS/SBI/SCI clearance and polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Lead modeling and simulation efforts to evaluate commercial space system integration into national security architectures.
• Communicate programmatic and technical issues and provide independent recommendations to management and customers.
• Interact with non-traditional space sector companies to gain exposure to emerging technologies.
• Provide daily organization and technical oversight for task execution and budgets.
• Collaborate across the NRO and Intelligence community to influence investments in commercial tech.
• Lead technical staff and matrixed resources across diverse topics.
• Work in a fast-paced environment requiring strategy and collaboration to deliver solutions.
