Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Architect to lead software efforts for government and commercial clients. This role focuses on building and refining M&S capabilities, engaging with customers, and mentoring junior engineers.

A strong background in C++, modern software practices, and CM tool experience is essential. You will work onsite at one of several locations (Chantilly, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA) and may travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field.
• 6+ years of modeling and simulation experience.
• Proficient in C++ for production software development, testing and deployment.
• Experience with modern software development, integration and testing practices.
• Proven ability to lead a software project team and mentor others.
• Experience with CM tools (Bitbucket, Jira, GitHub) and collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to corporate or customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical expertise and leadership on modeling and simulation capabilities.
• Lead customer engagement and advise on workflows within the sub-division.
• Act as main contact for major department-level technical efforts with customers.
• Mentor junior staff across focus areas.
• Develop and present progress briefings and design solutions to stakeholders.
• Manage development and maintenance of M&S tools and workflows.
