Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Mechanical Technician at Promontory, UT. The role focuses on mechanical integration, assembly, and test of solid rocket motor assemblies and launch vehicles for the Sentinel Program. It is 100% onsite with occasional travel (<10%).

The candidate will read detailed mechanical designs, follow work instructions, assist engineers, and document completed work. A high school diploma plus several years of related experience and the ability to obtain a security

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance, generally requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Support initial engineering stand-up of activities and transition into production operations and future sustainment.
• Support plans and schedules for Launch Vehicles activities in Promontory, Utah.
• Support the requirements, milestones, and organizational infrastructure to sustain and deliver on contractual obligations.
• Maintain close coordination with Production Manager on technician activities and milestones.
• Participates in daily escalation and tiered meeting structures.
• Establish production CONOPS for full rate production and guide automation in the production line.
• Training and oversight of newer technician (Level 1, 2) team members.
• Occasional business travel may be required (< 10%).
• Other duties as assigned.
