Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Mechanical Systems Design Integrator (level 5) to join its Sentinel Program team, with work at Roy, UT or Manhattan Beach, CA. This role focuses on cross‑segment system integration for ICBM launch systems and requires strong CAD/PMI experience.

The successful candidate will review NX models and ICM interfaces, drive gap resolution, and lead design integration efforts while mentoring engineers in a fast-paced, highly secure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12 years of experience; 10 years with a Master’s; or 8 years with a PhD.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application; Top Secret clearance ability.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and design integration principles.
• 5+ years in large aerospace/defense systems development across lifecycle phases.
• 3+ years experience with interface products and requirement specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review high-level NX models and ICM interfaces to identify gaps or issues.
• Drive gap resolution and support cross-segment integration across the weapon system.
• Lead system integration activities and coordinate with SE&I and other teams.
• Mentor and coach engineers; participate in technical planning and risk management.
• Develop 3D CAD models with PMI annotations and support design packages.
