Job summary

Amentum seeks a Mechanical Engineering Professional to design and analyze HVAC, plumbing, and building services for NASA Johnson Space Center facilities. You will work as part of the Operations Department, performing load calculations, equipment sizing, and drafting mechanical plans using AutoCAD.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least two years of relevant experience, U.S. citizenship, a Texas driver's license, and the ability to obtain NASA clearance.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering and minimum two years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with local and national codes and standards.
  • Experience working with product design principles.
  • Experience working with drawing standards including tolerances and detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects as the project engineer with daily interfaces with NASA Project Manager(s).
  • Perform HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing, duct and pipe layout including plumbing and fire protection.
  • Prepare mechanical plans and drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Conduct job walks and prepare MOUs for mechanical systems.
