Job summary

Amentum Space Exploration Division is seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer to operate, maintain, and enhance test control systems for space hardware under ESSCA. You will work with NASA customers and a multi-discipline team to design, test, and certify advanced control solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, embedded control platforms, and collaboration across missions from Moon to Mars. Travel within the domestic USA is expected.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics is required.
  • ABET accreditation preferred for degree.
  • Advanced degrees with experience are considered (PhD/Masters) for seniority.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot existing test control systems.
  • Perform setup and modification of existing test control systems.
  • Specify and tune feedback control loop algorithms for optimum performance.
  • Design and implement new test control systems.
  • Coordinate transducer and actuator installation, writing technical procedures for technicians.
  • Coordinate with NASA customers across organizations to ensure mission success.
  • Work with a diverse team to design, develop, set up, and perform structural testing on space flight hardware.
  • Participate in safety culture activities and reviews to support ESSCA and customer requirements.
  • Develop and deliver reports and presentations to support ESSCA and customer requirements.
  • Perform safety and certification training to support ESSCA and customer requirements.
