Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Space System Infrastructure Systems Engineer for Chantilly, VA, to guide concept development, verification, and deployment of critical space infrastructure bridging project management and engineering.

The role requires extensive MILCON experience, DoD space program familiarity, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 14+ years in related field or advanced degrees with corresponding years of experience.
• Experience with MILCON projects and guiding programs through budgeting, planning, programming, and approval milestones.
• Experience with space systems launch and operations.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous government/contractor environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a track record of coordinating with senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Provide SETA support to a Senior Program Manager for satellite production, launch, and operations infrastructure.
• Evaluate MILCON solutions and site alternatives for AI&T facilities, operations centers, and launch support.
• Translate CONOPs into infrastructure requirements and influence evolving mission concepts.
• Develop and review acquisition plans and assess contractor designs at milestones.
• Create documentation and briefs for Government and industry stakeholders.
