Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is a premier national space organization focused on solving the hardest problems in space. This Space Systems Engineering Leader role centers on providing technical assessments of foreign space systems for NSIC, supporting the PWW team on site at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

You’ll coordinate analyses, collaborate with government teams, and leverage intelligence to deliver impactful results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in science, engineering, or mathematics.
• 6 or more years of experience in engineering or related technical field.
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant satellite threat technologies and their applications; e.g., electronic warfare, directed energy, kinetic effects.
• Experience in analysis of: directed energy systems including lasers and the electro-optical systems that enable laser energy delivery; onboard satellite data processing, decision-making, and mission-enabling software to execute onboard processes; or satellite systems using a range of engineering and modeling tools.
• Must be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and have a strong demonstrated personal initiative.
• Superior written and oral communications skills and ability to work with other analysts and customers as a team player
• Willing to travel 10% approx.
• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Acting as technical contributor, consultant, and primary project coordinator on space system engineering analysis projects
• Partnering with government teams to produce impactful technical assessments of space systems
• Working with technical intelligence at customer location to increase value of analytical results
• Leveraging engineering analytic tools informed by technical intelligence to assess space system performance parameters
• Facilitating interaction between customers and Aerospace technical and management staff
• Coordinating large-scale technical efforts across program/project lines
