Job summary

Amentum seeks skilled technicians to support Kennedy Space Center operations in Florida. The role involves installation, maintenance, and testing of fixed cranes, doors, and platforms, with emphasis on safety and precision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or apprenticeship and a valid US driver’s license. Strong reading of blueprints and written/verbal communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and technical area and 3 years of related experience.
• Must have a valid US Driver’s License.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to assist with the work of others.
• Familiar with basic mechanical equipment and systems.
• Familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures within assigned work area.
• Technical training and experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience including during military service is preferred.
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, lifts, pendant cranes, and precision measuring and testing equipment is required.
• Must convey demonstrated proficiency in resolving equipment issues.
• Must be able to communicate ideas accurately and effectively in writing and verbal communication.
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, staff, and managers.
• Ability to hold the necessary security clearance(s).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications on a standard PC.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary medical/physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Independently perform installation, maintenance, modification, refurbishment, cleaning, troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, calibration, verification, certification, checkout, test and operation of fixed cranes, doors, and platforms, logistics material handling equipment.
• Operate fixed cranes, doors, and platforms as required for both operations and maintenance.
• Obtain measurements, field dimensions, continuity checks and other related information necessary to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks.
• Conduct functional and operational tests of refurbished, repaired and modified systems, equipment and components.
