Amentum is hiring a WPN Communications & Network Systems Analyst to support the Space Force Range Contract at Vandenberg SFB, CA. The role involves administering RIUs, monitoring performance, and coordinating network upgrades under senior engineering guidance.

The candidate should have 3+ years in communications or network support, DoD 8140 certification or plan to obtain within 6 months, and hands-on hardware/software expertise across Cisco and related tools. Remote work not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience/military training.
• 2-3+ years in communication systems analysis, network operations, or technical systems support.
• Experience with day-to-day operations, config management, and maintenance of voice/data/analog and digital video systems.
• Current DoD 8140 cert (CCNA-Security, CySA+, or Security+) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Hands-on diagnostic/test equipment experience (FIREBERD, OTDR, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Operational familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper gear.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration, maintenance, and configuration of RIUs and related subsystems.
• Monitor system performance and prepare configuration upgrade recommendations.
• Configure and test serial data circuits and interfaces (T1, DS1/DS3, RS-232/422).
• Maintain GPS receivers, Time Code Generators, and NTP servers for network sync.
• Support IPv4/IPv6 data transport, telemetry routing, and related networks.
• Support cybersecurity measures and continuous monitoring for ATO sustainability.
• Assist in planning, documenting, and reporting network activities and changes.
• Identify and report network risks and potential failure points.
