Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineering & Facilities SME to provide on-site support at Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The role focuses on facility planning, infrastructure investment, MILCON documentation, and coordination with CES, installation leadership, and program offices.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in DoD/federal civil engineering, DoD/space acquisition familiarity, ESOH experience, and a PE license or EIT plus PMP certification.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
• 10+ years of DoD/USSF/U.S. Air Force or federal civil engineering experience.
• Extensive knowledge of CES processes, facility management, real property administration, and installation support functions.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or supporting MILCON documentation (DD Form 1391).
• Strong facility planning, infrastructure investment planning, and space utilization knowledge.
• Experience coordinating with government organizations and installation leadership.
• Direct experience supporting Eastern Range, CCSFS, PSFB, or similar space facilities is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with SSC, DoD space programs, and space system development, integration, testing, operations.
• ESOH requirements related to facility construction and modification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• PE license or EIT and PMP certification.
• Experience with installation planning, FSRM, or installation development planning.
• Familiarity with UFC and DoD facility planning guidance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Civil Engineering and Facilities SME for PSFB and CCSFS.
• Provide strategic guidance on facility planning and installation support for space programs.
• Coordinate with CES, Public Works, and other stakeholders on facility requirements and space allocation.
• Assist with MILCON documentation and 1391 project justifications for MILCON, sustainment, and modernization.
• Support infrastructure planning for launch operations, tests, and space systems.
• Coordinate ESOH requirements for facility construction and operation.
• Conduct facility condition assessments and space utilization studies.
• Collaborate with SSC and tenant units to resolve infrastructure issues.
• Track projects and provide status updates to leadership.
• Prepare reports and briefings for program management and decision-making.
• Identify infrastructure risks and mitigation strategies.
• Support cross-functional coordination across engineering, acquisition, construction, and environmental teams.
