Job summary

ICEYE US seeks a Chief Engineer to own product-level technical authority from concept through flight readiness on spaceborne payloads. You will drive system architecture, requirements baseline, and verification across RF, digital, mechanical, software, and program leadership.

You will chair lifecycle reviews, manage risk, and ensure V&V closure while coordinating with subsystem engineers to meet mission objectives in a demanding, leading-edge radar program.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems or aerospace engineering on space, radar, or avionics programs.
• 3+ years as chief engineer, lead systems engineer, or equivalent authority.
• Experience leading lifecycle reviews (PDR/CDR/TRR/FRR) as primary technical authority.
• 5+ years in requirements decomposition, management and verification closure on flight hardware.
• 5+ years leading FMEAs, reliability analyses, and fault-management design for flight hardware.
• Expertise in radar systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the product-level technical baseline, including system architecture, operating modes, interface definitions, and requirements; approve all changes to the baseline.
• Set technical direction and align subsystem teams to system-level objectives and constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for lifecycle reviews — SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, MRR, and FRR.
• Resolve cross-disciplinary technical conflicts and approve major trade-study outcomes.
• Own the product-level technical risk register and determine risk posture.
• Ensure verification is complete and traceable before delivery; hold V&V closure accountability.
• Establish and track Technical Performance Measures (mass, power, thermal, link, data rate budgets).
• Lead or oversee FMEA and reliability analyses; identify single-point failures and drive mitigation.
• Own fault management architecture including FDIR strategies and anomaly response.
• Represent the program as primary technical counterpart to the customer; manage customer-facing communications.
