Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Space Systems Architecture Graduate Intern to perform architecture-level assessment, modeling, analysis, and conceptual design within the Architecture Concepts Department. Interns will lead and participate in architecture trade studies and modeling tasks for space, ground, and network domains.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a master’s or PhD in Aerospace or systems engineering, physics, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering by the start of internship period
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a MS or PhD degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, Java, or VB
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret clearance
• Transcripts required

Responsibilities

• Apply disciplined system architecting methods for architecture-level trades and analysis
• Participate in space system architecting and design activities as part of a cross-disciplinary team
• Develop methods to advance MBSE and digital engineering to enhance systems engineering across the architecture lifecycle
• Use analytical methods and tools to evaluate concepts for cost, schedule, performance, risk, and resilience
• Collaborate with Aerospace personnel to marshal expertise across multiple disciplines
• Elicit needs and constraints from customers and communicate findings in briefings and technical reports
