Job summary

Vast is seeking a Test Technician (Second Shift) for its Long Beach, CA location to support the development of test hardware for space station programs.

The role requires hands-on testing experience, knowledge of ballistic/hypervelocity testing, data acquisition, and meticulous documentation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, running 2pm–10pm with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities within Vast.

Qualifications

• 1+ years hands-on testing, lab or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with ballistic or hypervelocity testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hypervelocity impact tests per approved plans and safety procedures.
• Set up and operate high-speed cameras, sensors, vacuum systems, and diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare test specimens, projectiles, sabots, and shielding configs to spec.
• Document results with photos, measurements and written reports.
• Maintain test logs and equipment maintenance records.
• Support test planning with technical input on setup and schedule.
