Job summary

Vast is seeking a Test Technician (Second Shift) to support the development of space station hardware in Long Beach. This full-time, on-site position runs from 2 PM to 10 PM, reporting to the Supervisor, Structures Test.

You will help run hypervelocity tests, calibrate equipment, and document results with precision. Responsibilities include maintaining instruments, conducting risk analyses, and collaborating with engineers to improve test procedures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing and measurements know-how.
• Experience with testing in lab or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hypervelocity impact tests per plans and safety rules.
• Set up and operate high-speed cameras, sensors, and diagnostics.
• Prepare specimens, sabots, and shielding configurations to exact specs.
• Document results with photos, measurements, and reports.
• Perform JHAs and pre-task safety briefings before tests.
• Maintain test range equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Capture and process test data for engineering analysis.
