Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Structural Analysis Intern for its Long Beach, CA site. You will support the Structural Analysis Team with simulations, physics-based analyses, and design validation for Space Systems and components. The role offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-space engineering challenges.

You will work on cross-team collaboration, attend regular 1:1s with mentors, and participate in tech talks and intern events. On-site, full-time, 12+ weeks starting May/June 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support the Structural Analysis Team with detailed simulations and physics-based analysis.
• Assist in design validation and future improvements of Space Systems and Space Components.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver results and participate in regular mentor meetings.
