Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Commerce, CA is seeking a Structural Analyst Engineer - Level 2 to join the Mission Enabling Products team. You will develop and analyze propulsion tanks, pressure vessels, and related test tooling, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality to deliver hardware.

Required BS in STEM and 2+ years FE modeling experience; preferred MS in Mechanical or Aerospace. Proficiency in Femap, NASGRO, NX Nastran, Abaqus CAE, Matlab is desired.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 2+ years engineering experience.
• Experience with finite element modeling and model checks.
• Understanding of loads development and analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop structural models for pressure vessels using metallic, non‑metallic, and composite materials.
• Perform structural analyses including dynamics, loads, fatigue and damage tolerance.
• Review performance specs and develop analysis plans.
• Prepare and deliver analyses for internal and external design reviews.
• Support flight hardware development from preliminary to detailed design and test.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality and other teams to verify solutions.
