Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space sector is seeking a Structural Analyst Engineer - Level 2 for the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Team in Commerce, CA. You will analyze propulsion tanks, pressure vessels, and tooling, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, and other engineering functions to ensure successful hardware delivery.

Responsibilities include developing structural models, assessing damage tolerance, and performing dynamics and fatigue analyses using FEMAP, NX Nastran, Abaqus

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 2+ years engineering experience.
• Experience with finite element modeling and troubleshooting.
• Understanding loads development and analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop structural models for pressure vessels using metallic, non‑metallic, and composite materials.
• Assess stress, damage tolerance, and durability against design allowables.
• Perform dynamics, loads, fatigue, fracture analyses.
• Review specifications and develop analysis plans.
• Support flight hardware development from concept to test and delivery.
• Prepare presentations for internal reviews and external design reviews.
• Utilize FEMAP, NX Nastran, Abaqus CAE, NASGRO and other software applications.
