Job summary

Axiom Space in Webster, TX, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to support design, development, test and evaluation of structural and mechanical components for the first commercial space station. The role is onsite at the Space Station Development Facility in Webster, Texas.

The engineer will report to the Senior Manager – Structures & Mechanisms, contribute across the engineering lifecycle, and deliver high-quality models and drawings while coordinating with managers, clients, and teams to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required.
• 2–6 years of mechanical engineering experience in mechanisms, mechatronics, or related fields.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS and GD&T per ASME Y-14.5.
• Familiarity with FEA, MATLAB/Simulink, and design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate structural and mechanical components for the commercial space station.
• Create requirements and manage the engineering product lifecycle.
• Perform preliminary analyses using free-body diagrams, hand calculations, and FEA.
• Deliver high-quality models and drawings and oversee hardware manufacturing.
• Document progress, capture knowledge, and present findings to managers and clients.
